Jas is the Executive Director of the Seniors and Strategic Planning Branch within Alberta Seniors, Community and Social Services at the Government of Alberta.
With over 25 years of experience as a public policy leader, Jas has wide-ranging knowledge about health and social policy and program development, strategic planning, and community engagement. She understands the challenges that public systems and their structures have in offering consistent, reliable, client focused programs and services and she is passionate about bringing community services to the people that need them, where and when they need them.
Jas is the lead of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Seniors and Housing, holds the Leadership and Inclusion certification with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion, and has been tapped to serve on numerous committees within the public service and in community. Most recently, Jas was honoured as one of the 7,000 Albertan recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for her lifelong dedication to public service.
Jas has a passion for reading and writing creative non-fiction, and for her greatest ally, Tina the Cat.
