With a vision for leading the way in equitable care for diverse South Asian communities and a mission for empowering and nourishing Calgary’s diverse South Asian community through safe, accessible, and culturally informed counselling services, group programs, and outreach; PCHS is looking for a Fund Development Specialist to join their team.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, this newly created role will be responsible for networking and building lasting relationships within the gift-giving communities through fund development, donor relations and corporate sponsors. You will bring awareness to PCHS vision and mission while cultivating a network of dedicated donors.


  • In collaboration with the Executive Director create the Fund Development strategy for PCHS and execute on all identified initiatives.
  • Research individuals, corporations, and foundations that are interested in gift giving and/or offer grants and present and make recommendations to the Executive Director.
  • Identify and engage with all potential growth and fundraising opportunities with an end goal to attract funding.
  • Connect with giving communities and ensure PCHS is registered and updated.
  • Develop, orient others and present fund development marketing material with an end goal to attract funding.
  • Effectively communicate the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.
  • Identify, strategize, develop, and successfully execute fundraising campaigns.
  • Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet or exceed KPI’s.
  • Create a PCHS Fund Development Ambassador Hub and coordinate as required.
  • Manage data bases (salesforce).


  • 5+ years of experience in Fund Development and/or related field.
  • Experience with fundraising, private donor relations, event planning and execution.
  • Experience in Marketing and Sales.
  • Social Media Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, or related field is considered an asset.
  • Fluent in Punjabi, Hindi or Urdu is considered an asset.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning big events.
  • Detail oriented with proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
