Growing up, he was a creative, shy kid. As his skills with pencil, pen and art pastels grew, so did Manpreet’s desire to enroll in the Ontario College of Arts and Design (OCAD). He graduated from the program and applied his creative skills to the world of advertising on both Canada’s east and west coasts.
Manpreet was shy no more.
He left the ad world with immense knowledge and a great network, but without any true sense of what he wanted out of life. He embarked on a year-long trip of self-discovery around the globe—just a man, his backpack and a world at his fingertips.
Through his journey, Manpreet learned how he wanted to bring back the tastes of his family’s restaurant from the early 90s in Toronto’s Little India. It instilled in him a desire to provide food products focused on taste. From his travels he learned firsthand how food was cultivated, processed, and the true meaning of freshness. As 2006 came to a close—armed with research, development and a new brand image— Mampster Inc. was born. From humble beginnings in his home, Mampster expanded to a single unit on Nashdene Road with no employees, a line of sauces and first ever, ready-made gol gappa pani—a leading brand in the category with no artificial flavours, additives or preservatives.
As the years went on, employees were hired, Mampster grew and so did its line of products.
